  2. Next, grind up some bud either in a grinder or using your fingers. The finer the ground the better. 

  3. Now, take the bowl piece from the bong and fill it with as much flower as you’d like. 

  4. Replace the bowl piece, and put your mouth over the mouthpiece of the bong. (The very top of it.) 

  5. Deeply inhale, making sure the water bubbles. As you inhale, take your lighter and carefully light a corner of your bowl as you continue to inhale. 

  6. Once you’ve had enough of a hit, try inhaling the remaining smoke in the chamber and then exhale. 

That’s all it takes! Make sure to take this process slowly and only take small hits from your bowl until you get used to the amount of smoke you inhale per hit.

How to Smoke Weed from a Pipe 

Smoking marijuana from a pipe is a fantastic option for beginner stoners. This process is a bit less harsh and takes less complicated tools, but you still get just as high.

 

Pipes are also much more affordable at smoke shops than an average bong. 

 

So, if you have a pipe on hand, here’s how to smoke weed from it:

  1. Start by grinding your flower. A grinder will be best, but you can use your hands if need be. 

  2. Take a pinch of your ground flower and pack it in the pipe’s bowl. Fill it as much as you’d like, keeping in mind that a tighter-packed bowl smokes better. 

  3. Pick up the pipe and hold it in your hand, ensuring that one of your fingers covers the hole on one side of your pipe. This hole is called a carburetor and it helps control airflow during your hits. 

  4. Put the water pipe up to your mouth, still covering the carb hole. Take your lighter with your other hand and carefully light a corner of your bowl while inhaling. 

  5. After a few seconds of inhaling, move your finger to allow more airflow to come into the pipe. Then, stop inhaling and exhale the cannabis smoke. 

Pipes are great because they are portable and allow you to take smaller hits. This is great for beginner smokers who aren’t sure how much flower is right for them. 

 

However, make sure you don’t inhale too hard! There is no filter, so there’s always the chance that you inhale too hard and pull some flower through. (Also known as Scooby Snacks.) Not only does this waste bud, but it tastes gross, too. 

How to Smoke a Joint 

Finally, let’s talk about how to smoke cannabis in joint form. Joints consist of ground cannabis flower rolled up into smokeable rolling paper, similar to a cigarette. 

 

(Blunts, on the other hand, are made with blunt wraps that may contain tobacco leaves or other substances. That’s not what we’re talking about here.)

 

Joints typically have a filter tip on the end that you put your mouth on to ensure that you’re only inhaling smoke — not Scooby Snacks. 

 

Okay, so you have a joint on hand: how do you inhale it? 

 

Here’s how to smoke a joint effortlessly (just make sure you’re not indoors — these things are smelly.): 

 

  1. Take your joint and, using your fingers, break up the cannabis flower in the paper to ensure that it’s not too tightly packed. If it’s packed too tightly, it makes it tough to smoke evenly. 

  2. Next, put the joint up to your mouth, with your mouth on the filtered mouthpiece. 

  3. Take a lighter and start slowly inhaling the opposite end of your joint, ensuring it is burning evenly. 

  4. Inhale slowly for as long as you’d like. Then, remove your mouth and exhale the smoke. 

Pre-rolled joints tend to be best for new smokers because they are extremely straightforward. You can even roll them yourself if you have cannabis flower and papers!
