With your medical card, you are legally allowed to grow medical marijuana in your home. Of course, there are some restrictions and guidelines. You can only grow up to 8 plants and you can not sell or distribute. It is for your personal use.

How to get a medical marijuana card in Altus

To qualify for a medical marijuana card in Altus, Oklahoman you’ll need to be at least 18 or older. If you are under the age of 18 you’ll need to have two physicians sign the Minor Patient Physician Recommendation form, and have at least one caregiver/parent.

The application and payment can be completed through the online system, on the OMMA website at omma.ok.gov. To get started you’ll need a valid email address to register and create an account.

Once you’ve created your account you’ll need to schedule an appointment with a registered doctor. They will need to qualify for your medical condition in order to be approved for your license. You can locate a list of registered physicians on the OMMA website or you can schedule your appointment with Elevate Holistics. Our easy and convenient telehealth appointments with a certified doctor make things simple.

At the completion of your appointment, the doctor will electronically submit the Physician Form to the state. You’ll then be able to complete the application.  Minors and patients that need someone to help them purchase and/or use medical marijuana will need to obtain a caregiver card. You’re allowed up to two caregivers and they must be over 21 years old and a resident of Oklahoma with proof.

It’s important that you have all of the required information to complete the application. If you are missing any information your application will be incomplete and you’ll be sent an email to make the correct changes. This will delay the process.

Be sure you have proof of your Oklahoma residency. Acceptable proof includes an Oklahoma driver’s license, Oklahoma identification card, a current utility bill, Oklahoma voter ID card, residential property deed, or a current rental agreement.

You cannot submit your application without paying the standard non-refundable fee of $100. If you have acceptable proof that you’re 100% disabled veteran, Medicaid (SoonerCare) or Medicare enrollment you can get the fee reduced to $20.

In 14 business days from the time you submitted the application, you’ll receive an approval or denial letter. If you were approved your medical marijuana card will be included and you’ll be able to purchase from any Altus dispensary.

Where can I get a medical card in Altus?

You can start by registering through the OMMA website at omma.ok.gov. Once you register, you can schedule your appointment with a certified doctor. All applications will be submitted electronically to the OMMA website and the doctor will send their certification through the portal as well.

What are the qualifying conditions?

Oklahoma has a long list of qualifying conditions, however, some are not so easy to determine on your own if they will qualify you to obtain an mmj card. For example, chronic or severe pain, and various types of seizure disorders are clear as to what conditions fall under those categories. Some of the other qualifying medical conditions include severe nausea, terminal illness, muscle spasm, cancer, and anxiety. The only way to know is to get certified by an Oklahoma doctor. They will be able to determine if your condition qualifies you for medical marijuana on the same day as your visit.
