Less stressful, than anticipated. Informative, understanding and timely. Not to lengthy of a process, given, one of those, at the office visits. Even the cost, was a decrease, from what it would havs cost, for a copay. Recently approved, and excited to see what these benefits, entail. Thank you for a great Customer Experience

Do you want to get your medical marijuana card in Chesterfield? You probably have a ton of questions about how to legally obtain a medical card. It can be overwhelming if you’ve never done it before.

In 2018 medical marijuana was made legal in Missouri, allowing cardholders to legally use, purchase and possess medical marijuana. While there are limits to how much you can purchase, have on you, and where you can smoke you can still enjoy the many benefits freely.

Here are some things you’ll want to know when it comes to getting your Missouri medical card, how to use it and how much it will cost,

How to get a medical marijuana card in Chesterfield, MO

The first step to getting a medical marijuana card in Chesterfield is to have an intake form completed by a certified marijuana doctor. Only a state-licensed doctor can suggest medical marijuana as a treatment method. They will submit the completed recommendation form to the state of Missouri and you’ll then complete the online application.

Scheduling an appointment with a licensed physician is easy. You can do a quick search online and you’ll have plenty to choose from. However, Elevate Holistics makes the entire process simple. Our telehealth services allow in-home secured visits making it easy to get certified. The doctor will electronically send the intake form over to the department. This will be valid for 30 days, so you must complete your application within that time or you’ll need to get recertified to apply.

You’ll then need to complete your application through the Department of Health & Senior Services portal. Make sure you have all of the required information and documentation – a state-issued Missouri ID, or other acceptable proof that you are a resident of Missouri, such as a current motor vehicle registration or a recent utility bill, and a recent and clear passport-sized photo. To complete the application you’ll need to pay an application fee.

In about 30 days from the date you submit your application you can expect to hear back from the Department on whether or not you’ve been approved. You can log into the DHSS portal to check the status of your application. And once you’re approved you can download a temporary card. You can print out this card and go to any licensed Chesterfield dispensary where you can purchase medical marijuana products.

Am I allowed to grow my own medical marijuana?

Yes, you are allowed to grow your own medical marijuana with a cultivation license. This license costs $102.30. You can grow six flowering plants for personal use.

Where can I find a medical marijuana doctor near me?

Any patient looking to get a Missouri Marijuana Card in Chesterfield must first schedule an evaluation with a certified marijuana doctor. At this appointment, they will discuss your medical condition and determine if it will benefit from the use of medical marijuana.

Most physicians are not trained or qualified to recommend medical marijuana use to treat medical conditions, so you’ll need to go to a state-licensed doctor.

You can easily find a licensed marijuana doctor by searching online or you can use Elevate Holistics. Our doctors are state-licensed to diagnose your health condition as a qualifying condition and suggest marijuana as the best treatment method with our telehealth services. These convenient, HIPAA compliant visits are done from the comfort of your own home.

How long will it take to get my card?

Generally, it takes 30 days to get your card. The department has 30 days to process your application from the date it was submitted. All applications are processed in the order they are received.

How much will my mmj card cost?

The cost of a mmj card is $25.98 which is required to complete the application. This is a non-refundable application fee, so even if you are denied you will be charged this fee. Another option is a cultivation license which costs $102.30 and allows you to use, possess and grow marijuana in your home for personal use. The only other cost will be the cost of your medical visit to have a physician complete the required forms.

How long is my medical card valid for?

Missouri medical marijuana cards are valid for one year. Each year you’ll need to have your medical condition recertified by a doctor and complete the online renewal process. You’ll need to log into your DHSS account and follow the instructions within the portal.

You’ll find strains that include Indica, Sativa, and Hybrids and have High CBD strains that you cannot purchase in any retail stores. Some other products you’ll find are oils, topicals, concentrates, tinctures, and inhalation products.

You’ll find that the staff is informative and knowledgeable and can explain the effects the different products and strains will have on you and can guide your selection.

Your Missouri medical card can be used in any Missouri dispensary, but you won’t have any trouble finding one in Chesterfield.

What products can I purchase from a dispensary?

You can also purchase other products such as oils, infused edibles, topicals, marijuana concentrates, tinctures, and more. However, the amounts that you can purchase will differ.

What are the rules regarding caregivers?

Qualified patients who are unable to use or purchase medical marijuana on their own can select up to three caregivers. The caregivers will be legally authorized to purchase or cultivate on your behalf. They are not allowed to sell or use.

There are some requirements –  they need to be over 21 years old, be a resident of Missouri with proof and be responsible for the well-being of the patient.

If you are a qualifying minor, only a parent or legal guardian can be a licensed caregiver. They will need to complete the Parent/Legal Consent form within the minor’s application.

Medical Cannabis Certification for Missouri

Why Medical Marijuana Doctors are Necessary.

The vast majority of doctors don’t have a great understanding of cannabinoids due to a woefully archaic medical schooling system. In fact, most medical schools don’t even offer classes on the endocannabinoid system! This is the system in the body that interacts with THC, CBD, and other phytocannabinoids in cannabis. Crazy, right? While this is changing, the majority of doctors in America can’t truly point people in the right direction when it comes to cannabis as a medicine. This is where Elevate Holistics comes in by offering you a full staff of healthcare professionals that can take you from CBD to THC, to pharmaceutical interactions, and treatment plans. Make sure to ask your physician and Elevate staff anything on your mind so we can get you the resources you need to Elevate your health naturally.
