When to Renew Your MO MMJ ID Card 

As a marijuana patient in Missouri, you will receive notices 60, 45, 30, and 15 days before your license expiration date, reminding you to renew. These notices are sent to the email you entered in the patient registry.

Remember, you need to submit your renewal within the 60- to 30-day window before your ID expires to afford the DHSS enough time to process your application.

If you submit with less than 30 days until your ID expires, there’s a chance your current card will expire, which means you cannot visit dispensaries or buy medical cannabis.

However, you can still renew after the 30-day mark.

Note: Wait 24 hours after you receive your 60-day license renewal notification before you submit your renewal application.

What You Need to Renew Your MO Medical Marijuana Card

Your renewal application should include any changed information, along with all required document attachments. This includes:

• A new physician certification form, with the physician’s signature, dated no more than 30 days prior to the renewal application submission date
• A new patient authorization form for a caregiver renewal application
• A digital photo
• Proof of Missouri residency
• A government-issued photo ID

Be sure to change any of the following information in your application:

• Changes in the physician information application section to ensure it matches the information on the new physician certification form. This includes ensuring the selected qualifying medical condition listed in the application matches the condition listed on the physician certification form.
• Contact information
• Cultivation information

Two Ways to Create a Renewal Application:

Option One:

• Log in to the registry portal at https://mo-public.mycomplia.com/
• Click “License Dashboard”
• Navigate to the far right on the row of information about the license and click on the actions button
• This will look like a white circle with three lines in it
• From the drop-down menu, click “Patient Renewal”
• From there, you will need to select your license number from the “License Number*” drop-down
• Click “Save”
• This will open the application and allow you to make edits to each page
• Move through the application by clicking “Save and Next” at the bottom of each screen
• Follow the prompts from there to complete and submit the application renewal

Option Two:

• Log into the registry portal at https://mo-public.mycomplia.com/
• Click “+Create Application”
• Choose either “Patient Renewal”
• Click “Create Application”
• Select your license number from the “License Number*” drop-down.
• Click “Save”
• This will open the application and allow you to make edits to each page
• Move through the applications by clicking “Save and Next” at the bottom of each screen
• Follow the prompts from there to complete and submit the application renewal

What If You Can’t Find Your Cannabis Doctor?

So, what if you can’t find your cannabis doctor anymore? If the cannabis doctor you previously used for your physician certification is no longer available, you will need to use a new doctor.

Renewing in Missouri: Physician Recertification After 30-Days to Expiration

If you get your cannabis doctor certification after the 30-day notification, don’t panic; you can still renew your card.

But you may have a red x showing on the “Review” tab next to these statements:

“Renewal applications that are submitted fewer than 30 days prior to the license expiration may not be processed prior to the license expiration date. Licensees are encouraged to submit renewal applications at least 30 days prior to expiration to ensure license re-issuance prior to the expiration of their license.” 

You will need to go back to the “Questions” tab of the application and agree to that statement. It is the third question from the bottom.

Once you agree to the statement, click “Save and Next” at the bottom of the “Questions” tab, and navigate back to the “Review” tab.

The red x will change to a green check mark.

That process is to ensure you understand that your MMJ license may expire before the DHSS processes your new one.

Renewing in Missouri After Your Medical Card Expires

If your medical card expires before you get your physician recertification and are able to submit your renewal, you will need to re-register as a patient.

How to Change Your Password

• Go to the patient registry portal at https://mo-public.mycomplia.com/.
• Click “Forgot Password” under the sign-in area.
• Check the box that you’re not a robot and verify with the picture test.
• You will be redirected back to the Reset Password page. Click “Send Reset Password Mail”.
• This message will appear: “Password reset email has been sent. Please follow the instructions.”
• Check your email for a message from the Missouri Medical Marijuana Program with the email address: mmmp-noreply@nonprod.mo.mycomplia.com. The subject will be “Password Reset”. Open the email to follow the instructions.
• Click “Reset Password” in the email.
• Enter a new password. Note: your password must be at least 8 characters and contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
• Re-enter the password, then click “Reset Password”.
• You will see a message that your password has been reset successfully, and you can now log in.
• Check your email for another message from the MMMP
• In that email click “Sign In”, and you will be redirected to the patient registry website, where you can enter your username (email) and new password to sign in.

How to Re-register as a Patient with a New Email

Once you have your standard certification form, you can register as a new patient at the Complia application portal.

• From the DHSS website, click on the blue box with Patient/Caregiver Application Registration located under the photograph by the left to apply for your identification card
• If a ”Warning-Exiting Site” pop-up box appears, click ”Yes” to proceed to the registry. Only applications submitted through the online registry will be accepted
• In the top right corner of the Sign In page, click “Register”
• Fill out the provided form completely by entering your Legal First Name, Legal Last Name, Email Address, and Phone Number
• Be sure to select the type of application you want, Patient / Caregiver / Physician
• Enter your Social Security Number and Date of Birth and make sure they are correct before registering
• Note: Incorrectly entered Social Security Number and Date of Birth cannot be changed by the applicant after registration; you will have to submit a help ticket to support-mo@mycomplia.com
• Read the Terms and Conditions, check the box, and complete the captcha test before clicking “Register”
